Meeting Notes -- January 13, 2026
Mountain View Rotary
Tuesday, January 13, 2026

Greeting/Ring Bell (Cathy)
Hello and Happy New Year everyone! Welcome to our meeting of the Mountain View Rotary Club. This year's International Rotary Theme is "Unite for Good." Our local club theme this year is "Our Rotary Family Cares."

Pledge of Allegiance

Thought for the Day – By Jack  “The strength of the team is in each individual member, and the strength of each member is the team.”  No individual can win a game by himself. Real success—whether in service, business, or life—comes when individuals bring their best, support one another, and move forward with a shared purpose. When we lift each other up, the team becomes stronger, and each of us becomes better than we could ever be alone.

That’s the spirit of Rotary: service above self, together.

Introduction of Guests (Fred)

Club Business/Announcements

A special thank-you goes to every Rotarian who sponsored a new member this year. You’ve given the Gift of Rotary. As a thank-you from our District Governor Herb Ritter, every sponsor is automatically entered into the “Gift of Rotary” drawing—with one sponsor from each of our 12 Areas winning a free registration to the Rotary District 5170 Conference in Reno, May 2–4, 2026. The more members you sponsor, the more chances you have to win—and the bigger our impact becomes.

Extra:

The Four-Way Test is a nonpartisan and nonsectarian ethical guide for Rotarians to use for their personal and professional relationships. The test has been translated into more than 100 languages, and Rotarians recite it at club meetings:
Of the things we think, say or do
  • Is it the TRUTH?
  • Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  • Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
  • Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
