Mountain View Rotary Club has no meetings nor events during July. Hooray! Enjoy the break. The first luncheon meeting of the new Rotary year will be on Tuesday, August 12^th. Note that the Kick-Out event is now scheduled for Friday, August 22^nd, 5 p.m., Il Fornaio Restaurant in Mountain View. Tori is the chair for this event and will provide more information as this date gets closer.

 

We are happy to report that President-Elect Cathy had a successful operation and is recovering on schedule. Thanks to all Rotarians/family members who have supported Cathy during this time.

 

 

A big “thank you” to Tom and Hart for hosting the June social! It was well attended, the food was delicious, and socializing was the best.

 

 

Mountain View Rotary sponsored three Mountain View High School students at last week’s RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) Camp, held at Mission Springs Conference Center, Scotts Valley. The three outstanding students were: Jannat Bhatia, Raul Carrera, and Joaquin Garcia-Bueno. Jack and Haydee Wong’s daughter, Natalie, was selected to be on this year’s RYLA staff. Jack, Catherine, and Scott attended the last event of the camp, which was a BBQ. The group “standing” picture include: Jack, Natalie, Joaquin, Jannat, Raul, Catherine, and Scott. Special thanks to Catherine who chaired our club’s involvement in RYLA and who also personally sponsored one of the three students.
