Club Business/Announcements
My reminder to every Rotarian who sponsored a new member this year. You’ve given the Gift of Rotary. As a thank-you from our District Governor Herb Ritter, every sponsor is automatically entered into the “Gift of Rotary” drawing—with one sponsor from each of our 12 Areas winning a free registration to the Rotary District 5170 Conference in Reno, May 2–4, 2026. The more members you sponsor, the more chances you have to win—and the bigger our impact becomes.
Upcoming District/ Event dates:
February 7- Far West Pre-Pets and March 6 -Far West Pets/Pels in San Jose
District Conference, Grand Sierra, Reno, May 2-4, 2026.
Tori presented the Club with a copy of the book she recently authored, “Never Lean Too Far Over a Cliff.” Those of us that have already read it, know that it is a very enjoyable read, bringing many smiles along the way. An auction for the book was initiated and after several bids, Angela came away with the prize which was then autographed by all Members present at the meeting.
Upcoming Club Dates (Cathy):
This Saturday is our Club’s biggest fund-raising event – our CRAB FEED!
Next Tuesday, February 10 will be a regular meeting w/ our Speech Contest -Thank you to Sanjay.
The Palo Alto Rotary has invited us to join them on Saturday, February 14 for a tree-planting event with Canopy, from 9:00am -12:00pm, to take place in Mountain View but exact location has yet to be determined.
Cathy Bonus Bucks (Bruce) – Bruce presented Members with a stash of CBBs, mostly for outstanding Crab Feed ticket sales, but also to recognize Scott’s birthday (which he graciously made a donation to forego our most melodious version of singing Happy Birthday) and Tori’s authorship of her first book.
Program – Our speaker this week is our very own Bruce Barsi re the Mountain View Public Safety Foundation – one of our 2025 Community Grant recipients for services to seniors and vulnerable adults.
