President’s Greeting by Heather:  Quizzed members, who’s the Founding Father that stated:  “a penny saved is a penny earned.” “Our new Constitution is now established, everything seems to promise it will be durable; but, in this world, nothing is certain except death and taxes.” Hal was first to state: Benjamin Franklin.


Introduction of Guests: Susan Bacchi has submitted her application to be a member of RC of Mountain View. 

General Club Announcements: 

    *Heather and many shared thanks Sanjay for hosting a fabulous Holiday Party last Friday. 

    * Virtual Meeting on January 4th; to resume in-person Jan 11, 2022 at Adobe Building!  

    *Hopes Corner service project for January 22nd at 8:45-10:45am, sign up today. The location does require COVID-19 vaccination and only for 16 years and older.  https://hopes-corner.volunteerlocal.com/volunteer/?id=55438  

    *Grant recipient 2021 - Bring Me a Book delivered books and individual library cubbies to LifeMoves transitional housing center in Mountain View. Sanjay and Heather partook, see photo. Amazing collaboration between 2 Rotary clubs, Bring Me a Book, LifeMoves with huge support from so many local partners so many have a safe place to call home and books this holiday season.

    * A 3rd year podiatric medical student from Rosalind Franklin University in North Chicago, IL seeks a room to rent for her podiatry residency in January and February 2022 DVA and Kaiser. Heather has all details if you are interested. 

SPEAKER: Fred and Heather shared 2021 and 2022 Tax Reminders and Update. The Build Back Better Act is pending for Senate’s action and current plan has minor change for individual taxation beginning 2022. Stay tuned if state income tax deduction will be increased. For now, start gathering your tax receipts and get organized to claim all charitable and business expenditures.
