Non Meeting Notes

June 2, 2020

 

Hi Everyone.  Hope you are all doing okay and keeping busy.  Thank you to everyone who is sharing your stories and I hope to hear from everyone in the weeks to come.

 

Here’s our news for this week:

 

 

No virtual meeting this week, but we will have our fourth Zoom meeting next Tuesday at 12:15 pm.  I’ll send the link for the meeting out next Sunday with the weekly 3fer message.

 

We are winding down the Rotary year with what has been a most interesting time to say the least.  With the easing of some restrictions this week in Santa Clara County, we are hopeful that we will be able to resume some normal operations in the not too distant future.

 

If anyone knows of any of our members in distress or that need anything, please let President Tom or one of the Board Members know.  We want to make sure everyone knows that we are here to take care of each other.

 

 

This is an opportunity for us to share whatever information we would like so we can keep up with what everyone is doing these days.

 

A quick update from Cindy Cole.  Dave is home from the hospital and he was diagnosed with pneumonia.  They caught it early, so they are hopeful that he will get through it quickly.  Keep those good thoughts and prayers coming!  And cards and emails would be great as well.

 

Update from the Stenshamn family!! Greetings friends! The coast is still providing us a healthy mental escape with cool 70’s (compared to Bay Area) even though the number of tourists grows daily as the village opens more restaurants and shops. However, beach parking lots remain closed but no beach curfews. Boys newest endeavor is learning to surf! We are fortunate to have an amazing neighbor who has taught many children, including his own which is a son recently retired as a professional surfer. Distant learning countdown is single digits, with mixed reviews but I am grateful of all the hard work by educators. Now the key is to reduce the summer slide.  Virtual summer camp options are extreme and still wrapping my head around which ones may be worth the screen time.
