Mountain View Rotary Club Meeting

Greeting/Ring Bell/ Meeting called to order by Cathy Merrill at 12:07 p.m.
Pledge of Allegiance was led by Eric Volta
Cathy shared her thoughts on the Four Way Test:
1) Is it the truth?
2) Is it fair to all concerned?
3) Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
4) Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

She also read excerpts from a letter by International President Stephanie Urcheck reaffirming Rotary's commitment to its mission despite the current national scene.
Margaret Abe-Koga shared some thoughts on her work at the County and some quotes about Tax Day 4/15!
Guests were introduced - Stephanie and Desiree from the Robert Half Consulting Group., John Zoglin, El Camino Healthcare District Director and Sunnyvale Rotary member.
Club Business/Announcements:
1) Naiel Chaudry won the Area Speech Contest, Next step took place yesterday in Hollister at the Regional Speech Contest where he was one of two winners who go onto the finals! Finals will be on 4/26 (see below)
2) The club surpassed our Rotary Foundation Goal of $4,800, Thank you!

2) Tuesday, April 22nd – No Meeting, DARK for Easter
3) Wednesday, April 23rd – Rotary Board Meeting, 5 p.m., Tori’s Office
4) Saturday, April 26th – Stevens Creek Trail Clean up – 9 a.m.
5) Saturday, April 26th – District Learning Assembly and Speech Contest, West Valley College, Saratoga, 9:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. The Finals for the Speech Contest will take place from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m.
6) Tuesday, April 29th – Social, 5 p.m. hosted by Catherine Vonnegut
7) Friday, May 9th – MV PAL Youth Extravaganza – service opportunity
8) Friday, May 16th – Celebration on Leaders, Chamber of Commerce Event, MV Rotary will have a table. Let Cathy or Scott know if anyone wants to attend. Former Club Presidents will get priority. There will be Club recognition for 100th Anniversary

Lucus Krautwald, from Colombia, seeking a host family from August to January. He will be attending the German School.
John Zoglin from Sunnyvale Rotary announced their golf tournament on May 19th.

Alex Amoroso introduced the guest speaker Dr. Liz Dietz from the Defense Personnel and Family Support Office regarding Employer Support for the Guard Reserve
