Good afternoon!   I’d like to welcome you to the Rotary Club of Mountain View.
My name is Bert Raphael, your President for 2018-2019. 
 
Our Rotary International theme for this year is “Be the Inspiration”. 
Our Mountain View Rotary Club theme is “Have Fun Being the Inspiration.”

Introduction of Visiting Rotarians & Guests:  Tom
We had 3 out of the Country Rotarians from Germany.  Rotary Club – Bayerwald Zwiesel. Prof. Dr. rer. Nat. Peter Serber, Johann Kraus, and Joachim Zellner.  They presented our club with their flag and bottle of Whiskey.

June 22nd: Rotary Club Kick-Out Dinner at Michaels at Shoreline.   Reception/Drinks at 6 p.m., followed by dinner/program at 7 p.m.    More information from Scott to follow.  
 
Jim Spangler – won our first Annual March Madness Contest.  We had 14 Rotarian that signed up.  With his proceeds, Jim decided to donate it back to the Endowment Fund.  Total Donation to our Endowment Fund is $280.

Bob Davila: the Census Process: Bob Davila, former Mountain View Rotary member, who every year works the wine & beer bar at the Rotary Crab Feed (and son of long time Club member Frank Davila) was our speaker. Bob is working for the United States Census Bureau for his second U.S. Census and has a very interesting and insightful talk about the importance and significance of the ongoing National Census. Bob’s program will be multimedia, was just given to NBC News and Univision, and he will have information handouts at the completion of his talk.
 
Future Schedule:
           
April 16th: Dr. Marcus and Denise. They will be talking about breathing techniques and guided meditation for stress release. They also will talk about how brain works too.
 
April 23rd: Darlene de la Cerna  has doubled the size of our local Rotary Youth Exchange program.  She said she can bring in a student to join her.  408-810-8855 or dmdsc57@gmail.com
