Hello everyone! Welcome to our meeting of the Mountain View Rotary Club. This year's International Rotary Theme is "The Magic of Rotary." Our local club theme this centennial anniversary year is "Mountain View Rotary: 100 Years of Creating Magic through Service and Fellowship."

Thought for the Day by the 3'fer Tori spoke of her father's 100th Birthday in Reno, their family celebration, and taking her father to a gentlemen's Club” for a lap dance. Lots of fun for all the family and her dad. Bruce left cute stickers on the tables for everyone.
Introduction of Guests Paul's wife Susan and her friend Angela, Eric Hess of Hacker Jojo, who is considering membership, and Eric Volta, who is applying for the Club.
Club Business/Announcements
1) Presentations: Paul Harris Fellowship certificate to Fred; Past President’s badge presented to Jerrylann.
2) Some upcoming dates: Pickleball Fridays, 9:30 a.m., Rengstorff; Tues Aug 27th Social hosted by Tom & Judy (no luncheon mtg that day); Wed, Aug 28th, 5 p.m. Brd Mtg @ Tori's office (or Zoom); Fri, Sep 13th, 100 yr. Anniversary event (Bruce & Suzanne's house); Tues, Sep. 17th, Dist. Gov Jill Duerig's visit (meet w/ board at 11:15 a.m.).; Oct 5th - Steven's Creek Trail Clean-up; District "Avenues of Service" Conference, Sat, Oct. 19th, 8 a.m. - 2 p.m., Milpitas.
4) Other: Sanjay is completing his certificate for working with youths.
Program - Maxim Schrogin, Braver Angels
A member of the Berkeley Club spoke about an organization he is passionate about: Peace Community. Founded in 2016, Peace Community is a group with different political views that focuses on people learning to get along despite opposing political differences. They are a national group offering many different ways for people to communicate with each other and share opposing views in a safe environment. One goal of the group is to spread confidence in our country’s voting system.
Announcement of Next Meeting/Event A representative from the Acquired Music Program, which is one of our Club’s grant recipients.
