President’s Greeting by Heather: Good Afternoon and welcome to the Rotary Club of Mountain View where: We’re More Than A Club…We’re a Family!!!
Our International call to action for 2021-2022 is “Serve to Change Lives.” Our club’s call to action is “As a Family We Serve to Change Lives.”

Introduction of Visitors by Paul: We had the 2 guests from Bangalore who were at the Cascal social

Introduction of Blue Badger: Mandy Andrei
An active member is one who has been elected to membership under a business or professional classification and enjoys all the obligations, responsibilities, and privileges of membership as provided in the RI Constitution and Bylaws. Mandy you have shown your Rotary spirit and our club is so grateful for your dedication and commitment. We are especially thankful you stepped up last year as our Club’s Foundation chair and continue to serve our club in this role. I would like to share a quote by Paul Harris: “Whatever Rotary may mean to us, to the world it will be known by the results it achieves.” Congratulations as I pin you with a blue badger!
Mandy noted that her category was Financial Services and that Heather recommended her services.

SPEAKER: Intro by Heather;
Bruce England is a Mountain View resident since 1997, although he lived here previously as well, as early as 1977. He was born and raised in Palo Alto, so he is very familiar with the region. For the past 15 years or so, Bruce has been very active in Mountain View community matters. He currently heads both Mountain View Coalition for Sustainable Planning (MVCSP) and GreenSpacesMV, which he will talk with us about today. He also heads a group focused on communications among those representing local organizations with leanings in progressive directions. Mountain View Coalition for Sustainable Planning is a group of local volunteers dedicated to making Mountain View as beautiful, economically healthy, transit, bicycle, and pedestrian accessible, and affordable as possible. MVCSP believes that it is possible and necessary to create a community where residents can get all of their needs met within the borders of our wonderful City. Ideally, every neighborhood in Mountain View should have jobs, homes, shopping, public transportation, and open space within walking and biking distance. Accordingly, he is very interested in hearing from you about programs our Rotary might consider related to sustainability in our community, including those that already exist.
Bruce gave us two websites for his organizations to visit: www.greenspacesMV.org and www.mvcsp.org. He also provided a list of several organizations that were dedicated to making Mountain View a sustainable city.
