Thought for the Day (Cathy)
During holiday times we all are likely to spend more time with family members, relatives and often good friends who have become more like family over time. For thoughts to ponder, Cathy shared three quotes related to home and family:
- “A man travels the world over in search of what he needs and returns home to find it.” – George A. Moore (Irish novelist and author of Confessions of a Young Man)
- “There’s only one thing more precious than our time and that’s what we spend it on.” – Leo Christopher (Author: Sleeping in Chairs)
- “Your cell phone has already replaced your watch, alarm clock and calendar. Don’t let it replace your family.” -Unknown

Program – “Future Plans for Hacker DoJo (Introduced by Cathy )
Eric Hess, CEO, Hacker DoJo
Eric Hess didn't plan to run a non-profit, but when a for profit makerspace he was a member of abruptly closed its doors, he stepped up to lead a community effort to launch a new non-profit makerspace. Now, 5 years later, Maker Nexus, is thriving in Sunnyvale. Since then, Eric moved on to join Hacker Dojo as its new Executive Director and helped it survive after struggling from closure during COVID. A year and a half later, Hacker Dojo has stabilized and is looking towards its future, supporting entrepreneurs, techies, students and anyone in Silicon Valley interested in finding community around technology. Now, Hacker DoJo is looking into expanding its space.
