SPEAKER: Brandi Jothimani – CSA Director of Client Services spoke about CSA role with the City of Mountain View’s Guaranteed Basic Income program. A few key takeaways are:
*Over 2000 families apply for the program which is funded for 166 families showing there is a huge need to support community members who earn 0-30% of area median income
*The applicants were chosen and have received monthly payments of $500 starting December 15, 2022
*The involved agencies are tracking how funds are spent to gather intel how families below median income via a CFR bank component.
*CSA continues to support our community members in greatest need by connecting them with programs and support.
*Ultimately, Government agencies will have data to best understand how cash in folks pockets impact lives of parents and children.
