Good afternoon!   I’d like to welcome you to the Rotary Club of Mountain View.
My name is Tom Myers, your President for 2020. 

 

Our Rotary International theme for this year is “Rotary Connects the World”. 
Our Mountain View Rotary Club theme is “We Connect Our Community.”

Community Service – Dave Cole has been a bit under the weather and we all wish him well and a speedy return to the Club

 

Membership – Jerylann is working with the Chamber of Commerce on a reciprocal membership plan. The Chamber’s new CEO, Peter Katz, is invited to attend an upcoming Rotary meeting. 

 

Foundation Minute – Monique- Our Mountain View Club is a 100% participation club! Congrats to everyone!

  

Speech Contest – February 4

 

Socials – The Club Assembly meeting and the upcoming Crab Feed on February 1^st will replace the 4^th Tuesday evening social for January. The February 25 social will take place at Paul and Susan Reinhart’s house at 5:30 pm and celebrate Mardi-Gras!

 

Crab Feed – Alan Goodman:  Crab Feed is less than three weeks away.  Sign up for tasks! Help is especially needed for setting up tables and chairs. Please help spread the word to our near neighbor Rotary Clubs. Alan also has more flyers if you need them.

 

 

 

Tonya Veitch is a Bay Area native and graduate of San Jose State University where she holds a master’s degree in Urban Planning and bachelor’s degree in Heath Services Administration. Tonya joined the County of Santa Clara in 2033 working to promote healthy and sustainable communities through projects focused on policy, improving the built environment and community engagement. Tonya currently serves as a Sustainability Analyst for the County of Santa Clara Office of Sustainability and is responsible for the marketing, education and outreach of the County’s sustainability programs. In her presentation she provided several tips on how to keep a more sustainable and energy efficient household as well as naming several federal and local agencies that will work with homeowners to help achieve those goals.  She introduced Lindsey Roark from the Rising Sun organization that focuses on helping seniors who want to make their homes more energy efficient.
