Welcome to our meeting of the Mountain View Rotary Club. This year's International Rotary Theme is "The Magic of Rotary." Our local club theme this centennial anniversary year is "Mountain View Rotary: 100 Years of Creating Magic through Service and Fellowship."

Sanjay provided a thought about how the students in the Adult School graduation were inspiring, reflecting the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self” and that we all need second chances and these graduates are making the best of their second chance.

  1. Angela – Red Badge Talk
Angela shared about her background which is vast, exciting and ever expanding.She is of Irish heritage and born and raised in England.She received her degree in Psychology and received her MFT certification.She came to California in 1964 and worked for Xerox Parc.She is an Aviation buff and has experienced almost every type of aviation vehicle. To list a few – hang gliding, hot air balloon, F5 fighter jet, parachute, Concorde, Zero gravity, royal yacht brittania, nuclear submarine (last two not aviation).We have Paul and Susan to thank for introducing Angela to our club and getting her to join.
  1. Updates:
  • Golf Tournament – Steve Nichols / Walt Joyce
    • We’ll have 20 people; Cost is $75/person for the golfing and $40/person for dinner
  • Youth Scholarships – Sanjay – six students awarded scholarship
  • RYLA – Catherine – three students attending
  • RI Foundation Campaign – MV Rotary 108% of goal!
  • Rotary Report from Twain Harte – Paul & Angela
  • Pickleball update – new players last Friday were Heather and her Son Daniel
  • ClubRunner – reminder to put on cell phones
