President Twana Hancock’s Greeting:
Good Afternoon & welcome to the Rotary Club of Mtn. View where: We’re More Than A Club…We’re a Family!!!
Our International call to action for 2015-2016 is to “Be a Gift to the World”
Our club’s call to action is “Fun Through Service" This year’s club focus is “Being the Best We Can Be.” Thank you all for joining us today.
Fred provided the thought for the day
Song master Phil led us in "America the Beautiful"
President Twana thanked Fred for providing dessert for the meeting.
General Announcements:
- Scott informed the group that the next Community Service Project will be at Hope’s Corner on October 24. There will be 2 shifts 7:30 – 9 and 9 to 10:30
- Judy mentioned that Asante will be on November 5 at the Elks Club in Sunnyvale.
- We were reminded that the Cops and Cobblers will be on November 22 at the MV Police Station.
- Next Board meeting maybe either on October 22.
- Holiday Party will be on December 11 at 6:30 at Don Giovanni’s said Jerylann. The Madrigals will be part of the festivities.
Brodie gave his Red Badge talk. He grew up in Maui and is now a web developer after a few interesting changes in careers including financial services.
District Announcements:
- RYLA: We need to reserve for the number of students we want to send to Leadership Camp this summer. Heather is coordinating.
- Youth Service Project Faire on December 2 from 4:30 to 6 pm in Milpitas. Signup sheet was sent around. This will be followed by the District Cabinet meeting from 6:30 to 8.
Speaker: Judy introduced Jeff Harding, Superintendent of the MVLA High School District.
Next meeting will be an evening social on October 27at Fred & Debbie Storek’s house.
Our next speaker on November 3 will be Shanna Atherton from the city of Mountain View and the 4-fer will be Jim Spangler.
Alan will be playing at Maltbys in Los Altos on Saturday.
