Program – Sam Liccardo, Candidate for 16th Congressional District

Mr. Liccardo spoke about several issues facing our Country including a major housing crisis.  He proposed raising the capital gains exemption to allow more people to sell their homes without tax consequences noting that the exemption has not been raised since 1997.

Mr. Liccardo told us that he is running for this office because he wants to get things done and he is frustrated by the partisanship at the federal level and inability to find common ground.  He mentioned previous times when Democrats and Republicans could have conversations over a beer and find solutions, but that doesn’t happen anymore.

Mr. Liccardo has written a book called “Let’s Get It Done,” which speaks to some of the problems we are facing and the solutions he is advocating.

Speaker Recognition President Scott thanked Sam Liccardo for speaking to the Club with a donation to Polio Plus in his honor
