ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Tom Myers welcomed Nilesh back again but he had only come to say goodbye as his work and travel prevent him from being able to attend Rotary Meetings. He hopes perhaps to visit in the future.

Crab Feed preparations continue. Please bring more auction items and sell all the tickets you can.

Blue badges were awarded to Jenny-Rebecca Saccardo and Peter Early.

SPEAKER :

Bill Maston introduced speaker Martin Alkire, who told us about the updating of the City General Plan.

Martin Alkire holds a Masters in Urban Planning from San JoseStateUniversity; he works in the Community Development Department as the Principal Planner for the City of Mountain View.  He is the staff liaison to the Environmental Planning Commission.  In this capacity he works with the EPC on a number of long-range planning projects such as the General Plan, Precise Plans, and other policy initiatives.  Martin has been with the City since 1999. 

Last spring this club participated in a community visioning process that was part of the General Plan Update, 2030, and Martin described how the process is continuing.
