Tom Myers had just returned, very enthusiastic, after attending President Elect Training Seminar last weekend in San Jose and shared his thoughts from the experience.

Dave Cole is home from hospital after surgery last week and reportedly doing well.

ALICIA currently leads our Community Service Committee. She is looking for more help to review the 27 applications from organizations seeking grants.

CHUCK introduced CINDY  LUEDTKE and ED SANDERS-

Cindy discussed the Visioning Process for the Club which will take place on March 26.  Please let Chuck know if you can attend.           

April 18-20 is the District Celebration at Santa Clara Marriott Hotel - Programs are on Chuck's table. Please register to attend, especially for the Saturday night dinner when we hope our Club will have a full table. We also plan to join Los Altos in a hospitality suite on Friday and Saturday evenings. .  .  .  . 

JUDY HANNEMANN  is looking for volunteers to help with the hospitality suite.  Please contact her if you can help.

VOCATIONAL SPEAKER:

Dr. STEVE NICHOLS spoke about his practice and office in the El Camino Medical Center.

BRUCE  HURLBURT, Arborist and Parks manager for the City of Mountain View spoke about their work keeping the city green.

The Forestry and Roadway Landscape Division is responsible for the maintenance of roadway and median landscaping and management of the urban forest including maintenance of city street trees (including those in parks) and enforcement of the City's Heritage Tree Ordinance.

In addition the Division is responsible for maintenance of the downtown Castro Street and CivicCenter area and administration of the City's Integrated Pest Management Program.

The Parks Division is responsible for the protection and maintenance of 32 urban parks and 4.0 miles of bicycle and pedestrian trails along StevensCreek, Permanente Creek and the Hetch-Hetchy Right-of-Way. The Division is also responsible for the maintenance of Shoreline at Mountain View and other regional open space throughout the City.

Bruce shared information about their work on the Stevens Creek Trail, upcoming Arbor Day celebrations, and challenges presented by the City's current budget woes.
