Speaker: Jamil Shaikh, Human Relations Commissioner, City of  Mountain View

 

Jamil has lived in Mountain View for more than 25 years.  He was born in Karachi, Pakistan and migrated to America in early 70's.  An electronic engineer by trade, he also runs a small family business in Mountain View which was recently certified as Green Business.

 

Jamil serves in many areas of the community.  In addition to the HRC, he also volunteers for organizations such as: Leadership Mountain View, Community Services Agency, Old Mountain View Neighborhood association, El Camino Hospital,  and Citizen Emergency Response Team CERT, to name a few.

 

 

Next week, our speaker will be Don Weden.  Don topic is: "Winds of Change: Adapting Our Communitis to the Changing Realities of the 21st Century".  He is with Santa ClaraCountyPlanning managing a wide array of planning studies.
