We received a flag from Hawamatsu "Power" Club in Japan. Rotarian Joseph Libby visited on November 24th and did not have a flag with him so he sent one. Thanks Joseph!!
Monique Kane joined the President's Club
Election of 2010-2011 Board of Directors
Allan Goodman conducted the election of new board members.
The following were the nominees:

Alicia fined all club members $5 who were not wearing any Rotary swag....don't forget your swag!!!
Fred Storek gave $100 to the foundation!
Club Announcements
Thanks to Sandi McDonough for a successful Holiday Party.
Kim Castro has the club set up to ring the Salvation Army Bell on Saturday Dec. 12th
She still needs to fill one slot from 4:30pm - 5:30pm. Please contact Kim if you can help out.

Mountain View High Speed Rail Meeting Thursday Dec. 10th at 6pm at the Senior Center.

Jim Cochran and Bert Raphael educated us on the Rotary Foundation.
The Rotary Foundation started back in 1917 and the motto is
"Doing Good in the World"
Our district has been selected as part of a pilot program for some changes to the distribution of Foundation Funds. The rules are still fluid so feedback is welcome.
The pilot program will begin July 2010 and will go world wide after 3 years.
There will now be two types of grants,
District Grants & Global Grants
District Grants are mission related and basically an expansion of COG Grants.
Global Grants are for long term projects with sustainable outcomes. These grants have larger awards with a minimum of $15,000
