President Sandi announced Los Altos Sunset Club Blood Drive on October 30. hoping for 5 members from each club to help provide 25 pints. More information to come.

Our Club donated $350.00 to the San Bruno Rotary Club Disaster Fund.

Judy Hannemann  is looking for volunteers to help plan a Wine/Cheese/’Flu Shot event at the Rotacare Clinic.

For Rotary’s special effort to End Polio Now, each member received a package of letters to send out to friends and acquaintances asking their help with donations.

 

Tickets for the A Sante event in Sunnyvale on November 11 will be available soon for $50.00 each.

 

Bruce Barsi & Kim Castro reported that they had attended the Rock Star Event at Shoreline Amphitheatre where Rotary had a table on the stage. The event raised $39,000.

 

President Sandi reported that the Los Altos/ Mountain View Community Round Table is now working on a Common Grant Application, similar to the common scholarship application. Kiwanis and Lions provided back-packs to students at the start of this school year. Next year Mountain View Rotary will join in this effort.

 

Kristen Dorset is still collecting names of those who will join the End Polio Now Event in San Francisco on October 24.

 

Gerry Felix told us how Clubs in Wisconsin helped by Rotary Foundation Matching Grants improved nutrition for children in Panama through their Power Flour Action Network.

 

Judy H fined herself for losing her glasses AGAIN, but she will still see the Giants play tomorrow. Birthday fines came from Phil, and Dennis (who joined the Presidents Club).

Bruce, Kim, Kristen and Peter also had to contribute. Ken’s recent absences required explanation. Ernie had a celebration for Loraine’s birthday.

 

Our speaker was Nichols French, Real Estate Broker, warning us of things we should know about buying and selling real state. .

 

Next week’s speaker will be Kevin Duggan, Mountain View City Manager.
