Pledge:            Jim Spangler is trying to finish up collecting the money for the RotaCare pledges.  He has only 5 more people to collect from.  If you are one of them, please see him ASAP

 

Speaker:           Heather Stenshamn introduced Luu Tran, a computer programmer with Intuit.                                         He holds 23 patents. Joined Company 5 years ago at the very 

                         beginning of Mint.Com. Problem being addressed, Too  

many Financial programs and tools that don’t communicate with each other well, (Quicken, Excel, 

                         individual Broker, banking and credit card on line 

                         accounts) Explained in-depth about this FREE on line tool, 

                         provided by Intuit called Sight allows an individual to have 

                         ALL personal financial information pulled together and 

                         presented in a very coherent manner from many different 

                         resources. (On line banking, investment brokerage 

                         accounts, credit cards etc) Basically tells you where the  

                         money is and then makes some personal

                         recommendations for changes according to personal 

                         goals. Claims site is extremely secure, no authorization to 

                         move or transfer funds. 1st year had 1.5 million users and 

                         now has 7 million.  The site makes money through ads with 

                         partners (credit card and financial services companies).

 

I thought this was very enlightening and interesting and plan on looking at it for myself...

Sharing with you the amazing progress made by LARAP in two years: two Rotary Foundation grants negotiated, approved, and funded with generous matching funds contributed by club members and others. However, we still need to raise matching funds for the second grant which will send our folks to train medical staff in Liberia.
