President Sandi welcomed the company at 12.30pm.

 

For Flag Day we sang “It’s a grand old flag”.  Multiple song leaders were needed to remember all of the words.

 

Ginny Lear, Assistant Govenor for Area 9,  was visiting from Palo Alto Rotary. Bruce Barsi introduced his niece, Gabrille Valle, from Santa Barbara on to Chico.

 

President Sandi who moved out of the area, has been hired to be the Post Master of  her town.  After her training she will be able to fill in for most Post Offices.

 

Judy Hannemann outlined ways of raising funds for Rotacare. After discussion it was agreed to pledge $5,000.

 

Jim Spangler told of his son’s appearance in The Book of Mormon on Broadway.

Ken Schwaderer matched Jim’s donation to celebrate Cal in the World Series.

 

Hal Taylor had adventures in Haiti and will recount them later.

 

The Kickout is June 24th, cocktails at 5.30pm, dinner at 7.00pm at Michael’s.

 

Program –

Bob Parsons from the Stanford Stroke Center came back (after we had a real life medical emergency) to tell us more about the dangers of stroke- especially the need to notice how we really feel.  Signs of a stroke require F.A.S.T action and a call to 911.
