General Club Announcements:
● Please look for highlights from past meetings and some interesting membership data. Also, information on the District Golf Tournament on Friday, June 1 at Coyote Moon in Truckee. Plus information on Rotary University on Saturday, March 31st. The program looks fabulous with lots of different offerings. Please sign up would like to have as many club members there as possible.
● Slight change in plans: we will induct Tori Corbett on April 17. Craig Goldman, Superintendent of the Wisman School District, has been proposed for membership.
● Foundation Minute – Gerry Felix: read letter from exchange student Bianca in Germany.
● International Update – Monique Kane
● Club Service Update – Walt Joyce, sign up for Rotating Dinner Friday evening April 27th and Golf Tournament & BBQ Friday, June 8th.
● Interact and RYLA Update – Hal Taylor: Selected 4 from St. Francis and will be interviewing Mtn View students next week for the RYLA camp scholarships.
● We are looking for someone to coordinate the Stevens Creek Trail Clean-Up project on Saturday, April 21. The event itself is a lot of fun and makes a real difference in the community by helping to keep the trails clean and safe for the hundreds of people who use it daily. Is anyone interested in doing this; it will be about 4 hours commitment…please let Anita know ASAP.
● Jim Cochran has been heading up a committee to look for additional places in Mountain View for our lunch meetings. The Board will be reviewing these options over the next week and we’ll report back next Tuesday.

SPEAKER INTRO & PRESENTATION: Dexter Dawes on “Trekking in the Himalayas.”
Judy introduced Dexter Dawes. Dexter has made eight trips to Nepal in 10 years (1994 – 2004). Talked about how to get started and what to expect. Described the circuits he had been on. Showed us lots of great pictures of the places he has been. Many days you start as a group & string out on your own during the day. Great adventure, camping with how they cook and the miles of each trek.
Some people stayed after the meeting to finish watching his slide show.
