Following Memorial Day, Phil Armi led the Club in honoring America, the Beautiful.

 

President-Elect Anita, just back from the International Convention, thanked the club for her great experience meeting Rotarians in New Orleans.

 

President Sandi is still looking for several counselors for Exchange Students.

 

The Club BBQ after golf on June 10 is at the Adobe Building, 4.00 pm hors d’oevres and 5pm dinner.

Kickout at Michael’s at Shoreline is June 24.

Rebecca Tam and Kathleen Sweeney, for Santa Clara County Public Health Department promoting nutrition education in the Community, spoke about the California  Breastfeeding Law in the workplace. This applies to all employers of young mothers.

 

Kim Castro, Community Service Chair, presented the final award of the Club’s $14,000 grants this year. Our check for $1579 to Community Services Agency will be matched by the District. Megan Perdue from CSA thanked the Club for support. She described the many services that help seniors to continue to live at home.

 

Chuck Osborn, Scholarship Committee Chair, thanked Bruce Barsi for interviewing students from St.Francis High School. Bruce presented a check for $2000 scholarship to

Andrew Nguyen after his outstanding school record and community service.

 

Alan Goodman had interviewed students at the German School in Mountain View. He presented $500 checks to Violet Kim and Anna Wolff. Both had been active in developing the Interact Club at the school. They will go to Germany to enroll in Universities in Frankfurt or Bremen.
