President’s Greeting: Welcome to the Rotary Club of Mountain View – the BEST club ever. I am Anita Grossman , your president for 2011-12. Our call to action for 2011-12 is to “Reach Within to Embrace Humanity” and our Rotary International President is Kalyan Banerjee.

Gerry Felix passed out Double Sustainer pins to those members not present when District Governor Arley Marley visited our club. We are at the $6,700 level with about 75% of the members making a contribution.
Finemaster – Bruce Barsi. Bruce began using the questionnaires he passed out in July. Some interesting information about our members was revealed. (You just had to be there)
RotaCare Commitment – Jim Spangler. Jim asked for members to select either a direct financial commitment of $115 or agree to sell football raffle tickets.
Club Announcements:
● Lovely thank you note and photo from our speaker Joy Palmer-Cooper; thank you Ernie for making this possible and thank you Ken for being our three-fer last week and providing a great overview of Joy’s remark’s and her long-history with our Club.
● Due to a $54 increase per week in renting the Adobe House, we are actively exploring other options for our weekly meetings to begin in January 2012. With a better percentage of member attendance our weekly expenses would be less.
● The Holiday Party is on Sunday, December 11 at Cuccina Venti on Shoreline. The event will begin at 6:00 for cocktails and 7:00 for dinner. The cost will be $45 and is a mandatory event. The wonderful Madrigals from

· Allan is planning a surprise birthday party for our exchange student at the lunch meeting on October 18. It will be one day before Rafa’s actual birthday but we will celebrate it then.
· Out next social meeting will be Tuesday evening October 25th at the Cantankerous Fish, on Castro. $10 for a drink and hors ‘d ovurs.
● Upcoming speakers for the month include next week’s speaker Susan Hamilton who will talk about Yard and Garden Renovation and Design and a representative from the Santa Clara Water District on October 18. We will resume our late afternoon Fellowship Meeting on October 25; location TBD.
