General Club Announcements:

·         Kudos to Walt Joyce for a very successful Rotating Dinner.  Thanks also to hosts, the Cunningham’s, the Barsis, Williams, Kane’s, Raphael’s and Grossman’s.   The next event will be the Golf Tournament (at Shoreline) and BBQ (at the Elks Club) on Friday June 8th.

·         Foundation Minute – Gerry Felix.  We are now officially 100% participating in Every Rotarian, Every Year.

·         Community Service Minute – Jim Spangler.  All of the applicants have received grants and is being forwarded to the Board for approval.

·         Membership Minute – Jerylann Mateo

·         New Generations Minute – Hal Taylor.  We have 10 applicants for Camp RYLA.  The club is paying for 6; two schools are paying for one each.  Hal is seeking funding from members for another.  Please let him know if you can contribute.  One scholarship is $495.

·         Report from Last Week’s Board Meeting – President Anita reported that we will be returning to the Historic Adobe Bldg on May 22.  No increase in the meal cost at this time.  We are seeking ways to change up the meal to keep the costs down.  Another need of the club is for key leadership (the President).  Since we are not recruiting new members to feed the leadership pipeline, we are in need of Past Presidents to help.  As Alan Goodman suggested, a 3 – 5 year commitment is needed to develop a new crop of leaders.  Past Presidents will be needed to help fill this gap.  Some have said they will help, more are needed.  Tom Myers is the person to contact if you will be willing to help with a 3 or more month commitment.

Rotary Jeopardy – Bruce Barsi was the Master of Ceremonies for this much anticipated program.  Bill Maston, Jim Spangler, Chuck Osborn, and Monique Kane all contributed.
