Other Club Announcements:

-          This Saturday is Day at the A’s – details are on the District website.

-          August is Rotary Membership. We have some very interesting speakers scheduled for the next few weeks and through September so if there are prospective members that you would like to bring to a meeting, this would be great time to do so.  Also, our next Fellowship Meeting at Savvy Cellars is on September 27^th which also is a good time to introduce people to the Club.

-          Speaking of speakers, here’s the line-up of speakers for the next few weeks: Duncan MacVicar will talk about “Invisible Wounds of War: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder on August 16, and April Kyle will speak to “Navigating Social Media” on the 23^rd. District Governor Arley Marley will join us for the September 6^th meeting, and Dan Rich, our new City Manager, will be our speaker on September 13^th.  Local school superintendents Barry Groves of the Mountain View Los Altos High School District and Craig Goldman of the Mountain View Elementary School District will co-present on September 20^th.  Kudos to Judy for lining up a great list of speakers.

-          Rotary Club of Santa Clara turns 75 this year, and there is a party on August 27^th to mark the occasion. Three past Rotary International presidents – Cliff Dochterman, Richard King and our own Mat Caparas – will be among the speakers. The evening will include appetizers, no-host bar, full dinner, dessert, tributes, guest speakers and a live band. A special commemorative gift will be given to each guest. Please let me know if you would like additional information.

-          And finally, if you are planning or would like to plan a trip to Quito, Ecuador the weekend of November 11^th, you are invited to attend the Seventh Ecuador Project Fair to see what humanitarian projects that other clubs throughout the globe are doing.
