Recap of Club Meeting  December 1, 2009

President Tom welcomed members and guests.

Sandi McDonough made us think how we better our return by investing more in all our endeavors, especially in  Rotary.

Phil Armi led us with Jingle Bells to herald the season.

Finemaste r:    Alicia Crank fined herself after visiting Seattle and Vancouver.

                        Tom Myers for his family gathering for Thanksgiving.

                        Jim Spangler gave $50 to the Endowment Fund for Stanford Big Game.

                        Phil Armi also gave $50 for Notre Dame's defeat.

 Upcoming events:   Lee Means Annual Bell ringing for the Salvation Army at Safeway on Shoreline, Saturday December 12, 10:00 - 5:30.  Sign up with Kim Castro.

Area 13 Interact Silent Auction at Garden House in Los Altos on Friday Dec. 13          from3.00-5.00 pm to "End Polio Now."

A Sante wine tasting , Thursday January 21.  Carla Paul called for auction item donations. Get your tickets from her or Cheryl Moller .  New price rolled back to $50 now, $60 at the door.

Mountain View Mayor, Margaret Abe-Koga, was introduced by Kim Castro.

The Mayor spoke about the State of the City. She gave a comprehensive review of the many achievements and plans for progress and the efforts to reduce the budget deficit whilst continuing to provide services.

Stevens Creek and Permanente Trails are extending. Athletic fields at Shoreline are planned. The ChildcareCenter opened at RengstorffPark, Seven new fire trucks are in service. Work is planned for affordable rental housing downtown, for a new fire station and a recycled water project at Shoreline. Support is provided for Youths and Seniors in many different ways.

She described new private development projects still to come and the many community workshops taking place to address future needs in the Community.

Mayor Margaret Abe-Koga is justifiably proud of what she calls "The Best City in the World".
