President’s Greeting: Good Afternoon & welcome to the Rotary Club of Mountain View. Our International call to action for 2021-2022 is “Serve to Change Lives”.
Greeter & Thought for the Day: Bert shared various life stories for our youth with vision it is ok to fail and often that is a cause for success to continue trying!
Introduction of Guests: Seema Lindskog of Rotary Club of Cupertino joined us to recruit and share about the upcoming solar project at 748 Mercy Street with the 5 Rotary Clubs. The project seeks volunteer solar installers, may be Rotarians, friends, anyone 16 and older. To qualify, register and attend training on Friday March 4 from 3 to 6PM on Zoom with Sunwork. Work days you will choose 1-2 days of 6 days in March: Saturday 3/5, Friday and Saturday 3/11-12, Friday and Saturday 3/18-19, and Friday 3/25.

*In lieu of crabfeed, Club Charities campaign began and we raised almost $4000! Kudos team for mailing checks. Please support club’s efforts and mail your donations to:

Guest Speakers: Scott introduced the Youth Speech contest. Thank you to our club volunteers: Judy (tallier), judges were Sanjay, Linda and Jack! As always the students wowed the club with their creativity, presentation of the Rotary theme “Serve to Change Lives” and their stories. Kudos to speech participants:
1st Place = Adarsh of St. Francis High School; 2nd Place = Trishla of Los Altos HS; 3rd Place = Jenna of Mtn View HS. The club supports their efforts with prize cash rewards of $100, $50, $25, respectively. First place advances to the Area Speech contest, tentatively set for March 15th at 6pm with Rotary Club of Los Altos Sunset as the host!
Mark your Calendars: Next week Feb 22nd at 4:30pm-6pm is social at Cascal, 400 Castro Street. Meeting on March 1st, virtual only, Anita Grossman & Maryann Gray speaking of Accidental Impacts.
