President Twana welcomed everyone at 12.30 pm at The Adobe Building with

reminders about our calls to action.

After the Pledge of allegiance, Sheila expressed thanks for fine weather and all the good things we have in Mountain View.

Phil in a green hat got us singing about Irish eyes.

President –Elect Jerylann welcomed Jim Spangler’s family- Rotarian father, Martin, son, Jake,and grandson, Benjamin. Also visiting the Club was Leslie Dean.

President Twana reminded us that donations during March to the “End Polio Now Initiative” will be matched 2 to 1 by the Gates Foundation. Goal is to have every Rotarian give a minimum of $30.

Monique presented Bob Williams and Steve Nichols with cupcakes in recognition of their support for the Rotary Foundation. 

General Club announcements:-

Tour of the Mayview Clinic Wednesday , March 16, arranged by Dennis Potter. 4 to 5pm at 900 Miramonte Avenue, above CSAA office.

Community Service, Stevens Creek Trail cleanup. Meet April 16, 9am at Whisman Park, 310 Easy Street. Sign up sheet will be coming.

Rotating Dinner, Saturday, May 7.  

Hope’s corner still needs volunteers for delivering food on Saturday mornings.

Sign-up sheet also going around to get help to place new flooring April 22, 23 or 24.

Next evening social, Tuesday, March 29, a Bali Hai theme, being arranged by Tom Myers and Hart at their home. Sign-up sheet to come, $15, free for March birthdays.

Alan Goodman announced the Kick-out Dinner will be Friday, June 24, 6pm at Michael’s at Shoreline.

Next Board Meeting, Thursday, March 17 at CHAC, 5pm.

Monique to be away 2 weeks for her daughter’s wedding in Hawaii.

District Events:-

Rotary U (District Assembly), Thursday, March 24 at India Community Center, Club pays for your attendance and dinner. An educational event, all new members, officers and committee chairs should attend. See sign-up sheet.

    District Conference, April 29, 30, 31, in San Ramon. 

Video with District Governor Susan Valenta shown. Our Club will have a table for the Saturday dinner. Sign-up for dinner ($75) a talent show and Cliff Dockerman speaking.

SPEAKER:  Jeremy Theil, Sustainability scientist. 

    “Now that we are out of water, what are we going to do about it.”

With a 50% deficit in water and half our food supplies depending on it, our speaker showed details of its use and possibilities for economies and supplies.
