Meeting Notes - October 3, 2017
Club Assembly
President Scott welcomed all to the meeting and reminded the club of Rotary’s theme’s: Our Rotary International theme for this year is “Rotary: Making a Difference.” Our District Governor Orrin Mahoney’s theme is “Developing Lifelong Friendships, While Making a Difference.” Our Mountain View Rotary Club is “Having Fun Making a Difference.”
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Jim Cunningham and Phil lead the club in a song.
The thought for the Day & Toast on the occastion of German Unity Day and Oktoberfest was done by Honorary Club Member Gunther Wobser. Gunther was joined by his wide Manuela in providing German refreshments and delicious apple strudel.
Introduction of Visiting Rotarians & Guests was done by Bert. Dick provided an appropriate Vocational Minute.
Announcements:
· Jim and Twana provided an update on our “An American In Paris” Theater Social scheduled for this Saturday, October 7th.
· Tori thanked Tom & Hart’s for the social they hosted last week. The food was great and socializing were great!
· Monique is away today, but there will be a “cupcake moment” next week. $4,330 has been raised so far in the annual Rotary Foundation campaign.
· The President’s Club is up to 18 members, for a total fo $2,700 raised.
· Mentor Tutor Connection – Volunteer Information Open House on Oct. 18th, 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. MVLA District Office. A flyer was distributed.

· Jim gave an update on the Mountain View Rotary Club Endowment Fund
· Bert gave an update on International Service and announced that Jack Wong had accepted the position of International Service Chair for the Club.
