President’s Greeting:
Good afternoon! I’d like to welcome you to the Rotary Club of Mtn. My name is Scott Johnson, your President for 2017-2018
Our Rotary International theme for this year is “Rotary: Making a Difference.” Our District Governor Orrin Mahoney’s theme is “Developing Lifelong Friendships, While Making a Difference.” Our Mountain View Rotary Club is “Having Fun Making a Difference.”

Jerry Hirschfeld, a visiting Rotarian from St. Cloud, MN, presented a banner with a picture of a water fountain built with financial backing from Rotary.
Scott introduced Gunther Wobser as an honorary member.

- Mtn View Art & Wine Festival service project – volunteers for Sunday, Sep. 10th. - Thanks to those who volunteered. Reports!

Speaker: Mtn View Police Department – Officer Jodie Pierce & SGT Wahed Magee
Tori introduced Wahed Magee and Jodie Pierce from the MVPD. Officer McGee organizes, coordinates, and presents public outreach activities and programs related to crime prevention. He serves as a liaison with other community outreach organizations, both public and private, as well as other law enforcement partners. Officer McGee is assigned to the neighborhood and event services unit. He assists those in need and those living in RVs and the homeless. He works with CSA, city council, and neighborhood associations in order to implement compassionate ordinances to address these problems. He identified Rengstorff Park and Shoreline near 101 as particularly troublesome areas for homeless living in RVs.
