Reminder No Meeting Tuesday June 30th
President Sheila welcomed all to the Rotary Club of Mountain View.

The Thought for the day- Bruce Barsi shared an email from Tom Myers who is at the Intl Rotary Convention in Birmingham, England. Bruce also shared a quote from Don Alexander.

Sandi McDonough, our incoming President Elect, introduced visiting Rotarians and Guests – Ginny Lear from Palo Alto Rotary and
Raphael Brazon, Rotary Exchange student visiting on his last day before he heads back to Venezuela. Raphael thanked everyone for the wonderful time he had on his year long visit. He told us about all the friends he had made. That he learned how to ski, and was quite good at it! He attended Gunn High School in Palo Alto and just returned from a 10 day trip to Europe with the choir. Raphael now feels ready to take on college and whatever comes his way.
Walt Joyce- to receive the District Governor's Certificate of Appreciation for his "effort, dedication and generous contribution in time" at the District.
Chuck Osborn, Hal Taylor and President Sheila attended the RYLA barbecue last Thursday where a record number of enthusiastic students entertained us and we met five of the young people sponsored by our Club. Hal introduced three RYLA campers that shared a little about their experience at camp.

The District Barbecue, Roast and Toast for Garry Citti is to be on July 9 at Saratoga Springs Resort. You can sign up through the District website- it should be an enjoyable event in the shade of forest trees.
Jim Cunningham had his final call for fines. Thank you Jim for all your wit and wisdom and for getting over 30 members to join the President's Club!
Jenny-Rebecca Saccardo introduced Naomi Ture, Senior Producer for KMVT Community Television in Mountain View. Naomi directs and produces professional videos for the station, teaches digital art classes, oversees the internship program, and assists in covering community events.
Today Naomi spoke about a Global Lives Project she is working on in her spare time.
A unique video installation that can be assembled anywhere on earth. This project is following 10 people from all over the world for a 24 hour period so that you have a chance to step out of your own reality and into one you never would have known.
It started with a cable car driver in San Francisco and then onto a hip hop artist in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The exhibit is expected to be complete in the Fall of 2009. For more information visit globallives.org
