Today we celebrate Cinco de Mayo, and hope that reports about the diminishing numbers of people in Mexico who have flu is indeed continuing. It is also Children's Day in Japan. So we can think of games and fun :)

David Cole was welcomed back after his absence.

 

Cheryl Moller gave an announcement about Bocce Ball on Saturday at 3:30 in Los Gatos

 

Walt Joyce introduced the Golf at Shoreline event on June 9- BBQ following.

 

Chuck Osborn asked for a show of hands to express interest for a San Jose Giants Game Day on August 1st in San Jose.

 

Chuck then presented a check to Alicia Crank for Community Hope and Sober Events- (C.H.A.S.E.)

 

Alicia Crank followed Chuck and presented checks to the other organizations present and asked for a brief account of how grants will be used

  • Community Health and Wellness - $500 - Craig Schlarb
  • Dayworkers Center - $500 - Maria Marroquin
  • Community Services Agency - $2000 - Jim Bo

Tom Myers introduceed our Speaker: Lance Lindsey from the organization Death Penalty Focus

 

Presented Certificate of Recognition to speaker and a contribution to Polio Plus will be made in his name.

 

Next week, May 12,  Speaker is to be Dr. Douglas Lewis from Peninsular Vascular Center. He will enlighten us on Vascular Disease- GETTING CLOSURE ON ABNORMAL LEG VEINS

 

Jim Cunningham will greet and give thought for the Day   

 

Our next Board Meeting is to be a joint meeting of current and incoming Boards. It will be on May 20 in the CSA Board room at 4.30pm.
