Meeting Recap 7/28/09
Alicia Crank was our greeter and also welcomed us with a thought for the day.
Phil Armi led us in the Pledge of Allegiance and God Bless America.
Sandi McDonough introduced visiting Rotarians and Guest of Rotary. This week we had Bob Devebein from the East Palo Alto Club join us. Guests of Rotary included Judy Hannemann's granddaughter Jessica, Hiro Kariya's grandson Matthew Groenewold, Madeline Lai, a camp RYLA attendee, and Ina Bayer.
Dave Cole graced us with his presence and kind remarks. He seemed in good spirits.
Our Finemistress, Alicia Crank, collected $2 from many Rotarians for not wearing any additional Rotary memorabilia. Also fined from the bucket of fines was John Rinaldi and Judy Hannemann.
Chuck Osborn reminded us about the San Jose Giants game on August 1, and the upcoming fundraiser for CHAC. Volunteers are still needed to help with the parking lots for this annual fundraiser.
Rich Dressler from Mineta San Jose International Airport was our speaker. Rich shared with us plans for the completion of the new and improved airport. Current project completion is set for next July. We all look forward to using these brand new state of the art facilities for our future travels.
Tom Myers thanked Rich for his time and mentioned that we will be making a donation to the Polio Plus campain in his name.
The bell was rung.
