Meeting Recap of November 3

We were greeted by Hiro Kariya.

President Tom rang the bell at 12:30.  Hiro gave us his thoughts from "Pearls of Wisdom" and Phil led us in song with "What  Beautiful Day."

President Elect Sandi introduced visiting Rotarians Bill Mayhood and Vince Bitz from Los Altos Sunset who brought their guest Maoi Mineya (a potential Mtn. View Rotary member).

The Finemaster, Alicia, was just back from a trip to Detroit to attend the funeral of her brother so we were fine free for the day. 

Announcements

Chuck Osborn announced that our group will be sitting in section 230 at the Stanford vs Oregon football game. Fred said the tailgate party will begin at 9AM in front of gate 11.  Food and drink will be available. (The seats are directly upstairs after entering through the tunnel.

President Tom asked us to save Tuesday Jan 19 for our Youth Protection Training.  The Training will be the program for the day.  If any family members are going to have contact with youth, they are also invited.

November 10 is the Celebration of Collaboration.  It will be held from 2:30 - 5:00 at the Masonic Lodge in Mtn. View.  Cost is $15 per person and is sponsored by the MVLA Community Roundtable.

Gops and Gobblers will be held on Sunday November 22 @ 9 AM at the police department parking lot.  More bunnies are needed.  Please bring them to any meeting and Tom will take them to the Bunny Closet at CSA.

A card for Nikki will be circulated this week and next.  Any contribution for a tip will be sent to her also.

A Sante will be held on January 21  at the Old Delmonte building in
Sunnyvale.  Consideration to rolling back the price to $50 is being considered.  Carla will have tickets in the next couple of weeks.

Lunch 

Pizza Venti will be serving lunches for the next 4 weeks the 4 Seasons Catering will serve us for 4 weeks.  We will then decide which caterer we would like to use permanately.

Program

Joanne Medin (LA Rotarian) brought us a new slant on Identity Theft. Personal, Checking, Social Security, ATM, Identity to name a few.  She also brought Roland Lewis from Ibota to show us a lot of theft which can occur on the Internet.  Phishing, Pharming and fake emails can lead to compormising your information.  Also, be aware of some radio commercials claiming to speed up your computer; they are probably fake.
