President Sandi announced the Rotary End Polio walk on October 24 will be from Pier 39 (Not the Golden Gate Bridge) to the Ferry Building. Note this in sending the letters.

The Board is to meet on Wednesday October 13 at 5pm..

A film, called “The Other City” about AIDS in America, was made by Jose Vargas who was mentored by Los Altos Rotarian, Rich Fisher. It will be shown at the Roxie Theatre in San Francisco on Sunday Oct 10 at 1.30pm and 3.45pm. Please attend if possible.

Dennis Kobza was presented with his 7th Paul Harris pin. He and Jim Cunningham received certificates for joining the Presidents Club.

 

Jim Cunningham is organizing a Tail-gate party for Oct 23 game at Stanford vs Washington State.

Gerry Felix told how effectively Rotary Foundation matches people with money for positive results. 74% of our members have already contributed this year. Join them.

 

Judy called out Chuck who worked at the Giants’ successful game last Sunday. Bill Maston was fined after giving reasons to join our Rotary Club:- Camaraderie, our profile in the Community and the great lunches each week.

Other fines arose after Hal, Phil and Fred tried to state the population of Mountain View and Kim named three members of the City Council.

 

Our speaker was Kevin Duggan, City Manager, bringing us up-to-date on the State of the City, balancing the budget and providing services we all enjoy for people and even for burrowing owls.

 

Next week’s speaker will be Mike Kasperzak, Mountain View City Councilman.
