Meeting Summary May 14, 2013
President-Elect Bruce Barsi (Judy was out) welcomed everyone. He reminded all (That he was not Judy &) of our Call to Action for 2012-13: “PEACE THROUGH SERVICE.” Our local focus –both District 5170 and MV Rotary - is “Mission Membership”!
Paul Reinhart led us in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Bruce shared lots of great and funny thoughts about “baseball quotes”.
Phil & our 2 program songmeisters led us in singing "God Bless America” in choir.
There was a visiting Rotarian, Paresh Telang from India w/daughter employed at Google, plus our presenters were the wonderful music group of Narayan & Janet visiting from Seattle. Scott Johnson had a guest from Villa Sienna, and Bert introduced his wife, Anne.

* Hal let us know of his visit to Burn’s Steakhouse in Florida – very expensive and tasty but more importantly that his son graduates from USC (Fight On) with Aerospace Engineering degree - Congratulations
Announcements:
Rotary University – formerly Avenues of Service - Thursday May 16 from 4 – 9pm at the Doubletree. We’d like attendance by all next year’s Board members, all co-chairs, all red badgers, and anyone else who wants to be inspired about possibilities in our Rotary.
Make sure you RSVP to meeting by Monday noon…very important especially if you are not coming or bringing an extra person

Today's Program:
Bert, introduced our visiting Rotarian singing group from Seattle, Narayan & Janet. Their style displays the same values as the Rotary Club of Music for Peace, Goodwill & the Celebration of Life. They played 4 uplifting songs from their recently completed 3rd CD. Great Music and positive vibes, Favorite Song- Leave your stress at the Door! 
President-Elect Bruce’s Closing Remarks:
Next Tuesday, May 21st we will have a Special program – the induction of all Red Badgers as (finally) Blue Badgers and a very special speaker – Former RI President and member of our club, M.A.T. Caparas. Don’t miss it!
Our “three-fer” for next meeting, May 21st, will be Twana.
And Remember Judy’s Dream for our Rotary this year: Each member will attend every meeting possible, arriving before 12:15 each week, taking on at least one club responsibility during the year, and bringing in at least one new member this year!!
